A short update from our sister initiative, the People's Health Alliance

The PHA team have been exceptionally busy in the background as we naturally move into the next phase of our journey and think about how we can support all areas of community life. This is where The People’s Alliance has formed as the umbrella organisation for PHA, PFFA and other initiatives we embark on down the road. More details of this will be shared over the coming weeks and months as we work to bring everything together in a more coherent way and develop The People’s Alliance website, which will include a community group directory, sharing details of any authentic grass roots groups that are supporting their community, whether that be in health, food, education or another area of community life.

Our education team have been busy organising some fantastic talks and workshops with some of our partners. The dementia workshop series with Gar Chalfont from The Dementia Pioneers has received brilliant testimonials from people that participated, particularly about the huge array of information shared and Gar’s profound knowledge. The recordings are available for anyone interested in learning more about supporting people with cognitive decline: https://payhip.com/b/o7Eq2

We’ve just launched an exciting partnership with My Medical Choice thanks to the incredible work of a very small team. My Medical Choice provides legal protection and medical treatment options for when you need them most. There are some great videos on their website if you’d like to find out more: https://www.my-medical-choice.org/

And finally, we are very excited to share details of our gala dinner on 29th September at the Queens Hotel in Leeds, to help raise money for key projects that we wish to progress as we move through the next year. This includes an emotional support hotline, a pilot youth hub, a pilot integrated health clinic as well as vital funding to keep our core operations running.
